Generate healing
FREEMDR was started in 2025 by an EMDR trained therapist in Austin, TX as an offshoot of Heart & Soul ATX. It began with two friends who wanted to do more for the unhoused community of Austin; one who offered free haircuts and another who just wanted to support the effort. Together Heart & Soul ATX has grown and partnered with other organizations to offer much more including; food, clothing, hygiene products, pet food, healthy socialization and some TLC. FREEMDR is run completely by volunteer therapists who are trained in EMDR and other modalities. We currently provide mobile clinic days in Austin, TX at Violet Crown City Church in conjunction with Heart & Soul ATX at their Community Care events the first Saturday of every month (beginning in 2026). We also provide free mental health training to other organizations who provide services to vulnerable populations.
